Who we are
Trade Slip is run from the United Kingdom. For anything about your information, email hello@tradeslipapp.com.
Two kinds of people's information pass through Trade Slip: tradespeople who use it to send quotes, and the customers they send them to. What happens to each is different, so they are set out separately.
If you use Trade Slip to send quotes
We keep:
- your email address, so you can sign in;
- what you put in settings — business name, trade, phone, address, VAT number, payment link, bank details, terms and logo;
- your quotes, and the lines and prices you save from them;
- a record of signed-in browsers, kept as scrambled codes that cannot be used to sign in, which lapse 90 days after you last used them;
- for sign-in rate limits, a scrambled code made from your email address and network address, kept for an hour and never readable as either;
- whether each email we sent was accepted by our email provider — the purpose and the outcome, never the address or the contents;
- if you choose to support Trade Slip, whether your subscription is active, and Stripe's reference numbers for it.
We use it to run Trade Slip for you and for nothing else. The legal basis is that it is needed to provide the service you signed up for. It stays until you delete it or delete your account, which you can do yourself from settings, after downloading everything.
If you received a quote
The tradesperson who sent it typed in your details: usually your name, the job address, and perhaps your email and phone number, along with the job and the price. They decide what goes in and why, so for your details they are responsible, and Trade Slip holds them on their behalf.
When you open and accept a quote, we also record, for the tradesperson:
- the first time the link was opened;
- if you accept, the name you type, the time, and your network (IP) address, along with exactly what the quote said at that moment. This is the record that you accepted, and it appears on the tradesperson's copy and on the PDF.
We never use your details to contact you, market to you, or for anything of our own. The quote page does not count your visit, and it does not need a cookie. If you emailed a question, or want your details changed or removed, ask the tradesperson first. You can also email us and we will pass it on and help.
Your details stay until the tradesperson deletes the quote or their account. Paying a deposit happens on the tradesperson's own payment page or by bank transfer to them. Trade Slip is not involved and sees none of it.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare runs Trade Slip's servers, database and file storage, and the check that stops bots using the sign-in form. The database and file storage are created under European Union jurisdiction.
- Resend sends our emails: sign-in links, quotes emailed to customers, acceptance notices and reminders. Resend sends from Ireland but keeps its account records and delivery logs in the United States, so email addresses and email contents leave the UK and EU when an email is sent.
- Stripe and Onelink handle the optional support subscription. Onelink is the company that sells it and takes the payment through Stripe. We never see card details.
Resend and Stripe move information to the United States. Both rely on the standard legal safeguards for doing so — the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses — and both take part in the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Counting visits
We use Sereno to count visits to Trade Slip's public pages only: the home page, the trade template pages and these legal pages. It is not on the signed-in app, and never on a customer's quote. It sets no cookie and stores nothing on your device. Sereno is made by the same person as Trade Slip, which is said here rather than left to look like an outside supplier.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share anyone's information.
- We do not show adverts or use advertising trackers.
- We do not contact tradespeople's customers.
- We do not use anyone's quotes or details to train anything.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or take it elsewhere. Tradespeople can do most of this themselves: settings has a full download and account deletion. For anything else, email hello@tradeslipapp.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, tradespeople are emailed before it takes effect, and the date at the top of this page changes. See also cookies and terms.
